There are a lot of risk factors that we know about.  In particular somebody with pre-existing kidney disease is at risk; there are medicines， such as NSAID’s， that can definitely cause cardio-renal syndrome; this is  the most important reversible cause that often physicians don’t recognize.  And we know that people who need high-dose diuretics are at risk.
